These are all Luke Skywalker's
This is on Luke's ceiling in his bedroom.
A couple of weeks ago I was reading the paper and saw that Toys R Us was having a Star Wars Clone Wars toy unveiling on the following Friday night at midnight. Later that week, the kids and I were at Target and Luke notice all of the Star Wars toys were off the shelves and they were having an unveiling the following Saturday. He immediately called Drew and they decided they would be at Target when the opened on Saturday.
Later that night I told Drew about Toys R Us and he thought it would be a cool idea too to take Luke to the toy store at midnight. We decided not to tell Luke until Friday night. We put the kids to bed because we wanted it to be a dad and son thing and we knew if Tetyana knew she would want to go too. The other thing that I knew was that if Tetyana was up later than 10 pm she would be a drama queen the next day. So when we were "putting Luke to bed" we told Luke and he was so excited. He was jumping up and down and flopping all over the floor.
The store that was hosting the Star Wars unveiling is about 30 minutes from our house so they left about 11:15. When they got there they called me and told me they were in line with about 200 other people! Most of the people were adults and some were even dressed up! The first guy in line said he got there at 5:30. People really are crazy!
By the time Drew and Luke got into the store the very small section they were allowed to shop in was pretty much picked over. But they did have some pretty cool displays! As you can see in the picture above, Luke's room is done in Star Wars. He has the coolest room I have ever seen including a 6 foot tall Darth Maul display statue. Most kids don't like to spend the night in Luke's room and we have to cover up Darth with a sheet. The room glows in the dark with a black light on! It is too cool!!
Luke ended up sneaking down one of the isles and got some of his favorite Star Wars Galactic Hero's. I think he has the biggest collection ever! He told me yesterday he has like 84 of them!
Star Wars has been a passion of Luke's even before he was born...Drew loves Star Wars and he picked the lucky name out of the hat when we were naming Luke. He had a light saber in his room the day he came home.
I hope that night is a night Luke will remember and can tell his kids about one day....

LOVE IT! My boys would spend the night with Luke anytime! We love Star Wars around here too.
What a great memory for Luke with his Daddy... :)
What a great "boys night out"!
Luke's room is COOL!
That rocks! Luke will remember that special night with daddy!
SOOO Cool!! Way to go Daddy!
I am glad to know that not only is Luke growing up but Drew is too. His favorite movie used to be Fast Times at Ridgemont High. But you can hardly watch that with your 9 year old. lol The room is cool. I know my son would not have any problem sleeping in Lukes room. Statue, glow in the dark and all.
